Did you order a sport or a regular one? I bought a regular Swift in the middle of Jan and waited about 10 days for delivery. Although Qld has a different dealer network than the rest of the country for some reason so it might be different elsewhere

i got the 'S' model. Its gone from dealer financial problems, to rego people problems to transport problems to paint defects... when i put a deposit down they said 7-10 days. I'm in Vic.
: )

Tell them to arrange a dealer transfer, and tell them you want the car within 5 working days.

um.... almost all of them? Our last two cars in Australia ('01 WRX, and '92 (JDM) Mazda Familia GT-X) both had cruise control as OEM options.

In the last 2 years (in Europe) I've driven (briefly) the following: R32 Golf, Audi S4, BMW M5 Touring, Skoda Octavia RS, Porche Boxter S - again all of them with cruise control standard. I also had a ride in an Aston DB9. Again, with cruise. I think all of them had electronic throttle too! Admittedly none of them are hard edge road/race cars (eg Porche GT3), but they all had sporting pretentions

I agree that the ralliart colts are also an abberation... weird.

Maybe it's just "warm" hatch market. Anyone know if cruise is available on XR4, or any of the froggy cars (Renault, Peugeot)?

I dunno - but all the cars you've mentioned are slightly more expensive then the Swift? For those prices - I would think they would not only have cruise control, but a damn espresso machine flip out in the centre dash.

Fatoomchk - did you just move to Canberra as well? I move down a fortnight ago! We should meet up. I've got some friends with Swift Sports and XR4s coming to crash at my place in a few weeks!

No cruise in the XR4 either .. not even an option.

Yeah... no cruise on the XR4 or XR5!

Not sure about the Rcolt or Polo GTI though.

My list of things:
- Head rests being left up
- how dirty yellow gets
- high beam too high
- a few squeeks, but nothing major yet
- roof rack clip not the best
- black crap that appears from under the rear window after you wash, dry and wax
- the sports seats are uncomfortable for loooong drives
- 130km/h on the freeway and the noise of 4100rpm. Also, fuel consumption on freeways
- for some reason, when I'm pushing through a corner a bit too much, ESP and handbrake light comes on
- centre console (fixed: got one from HK for about $30 inc. p/h)

a few other things, but I knew they were coming:
- no spare
- 98RON only (hurts as I need 4 tanks a week at the moment)
- my mrs complains the ride is too hard (wait till I get coil overs HAHAHA)

For 4 tanks that's around $12 p/w expensive than if you used 91RON... not exactly a massive hit to the wallet!

Also, if your handbrake light is coming on during cornering then that usually means your fluid is low.

Good point on both accounts... guess its not that much difference.

Will get fluids checked out this weekend. I need a service in about a fortnight anyway, so might hold off till then!

What do i hate?

Hmm maybe the paper thin metal protecting the car is built from, Road noise, Everything rattles. paint from a can does a better job then suzuki ever can - straches like sh**, thing as sh**

But i have no problems with it, i bought it for fuel, its fun, light and small. If id wanted a BMW i would of bought one :P as they say "everyone wants what they dont have".

The only thing so far, is that to switch the fuel computer mode from Inst. to Av. you need arms longer than a gorilla to press that tiny button way off in the distance.

If you drive like a granny with the wheel on your chest, you need arms longer than a chimp.

It would have made sense to have that switch on the wheel, or at least on one of those unused switch positions near the fog light switch.

Haha, for ages my biggest complaint about it was that the boot didn't have a light - but then I found the light - the previous owner had turned it off.
Now, my biggest complaint is probably... oh well, the rear drum brakes but NOT because of performance, because it looks silly. The 'S' version should definitely have come with discs so that you can't see that they're lacking through the alloys. Plus anyone who wants to have alloys fitted now has to show off their lack of disc brakes (except of the Sport obviously.)
The 1.5 could have a growlier sound - when it's idling, you can't even tell it's on! I took the bonnet silencer of and that made a tiny difference. Sure it's nice for listening to music etc - but it just feels like they've put a lot of effort into comfort, probably sacrificing performance.

People have complained about power etc - that's a bit rich, given that out of the small Jap car class (that is: Honda Jazz, Mazda 2, Mitsubishi Colt, Toyota Yaris) the Swift has a 0-100 faster than all of them.
That's both on manufacturers quotes and reviewers testing and my own testing of the Swift vs Jazz and Colt - both little weaklings those cars are. The other day I was in an ending left lane at the lights, next to a jazz - I didn't expect him to bother racing but he did so I was caught by surprise and was more than a car behind him - but with just a few seconds of decent throttle he was out of the race.

Many new cars don't come with ashtray & lighter.
Ashtray is on optional extra.
http://www.suzuki.com.au/cars/accessori ... odel=swift

And the Sport doesn't use a run flat system. It comes with a bottle of goo that is used to fix the puncture so it can be driven to a proper repair facility.

the left passanger air vent rattles. closing it solves this problem
gets dirty easily. wash it, drive it to work and back, it's dirty
audio. no usb? no aux? i don't care about i pod connection, i pods suck
can hear a few small rattles in the dash. potholes everywhere makes the rattle worse. hate it when they don't fix the potholes properly.
brakes are a bit too sensitive.
interior light doesn't work anymore. went through the maintenence reports and previous owner kept complaining about this.
door trim rattle. i wedged a cable tie behind that plactic strip. problem solved.
everyone makes fun of you and your ride lol.
ride is a little bit too hard.
don't like how you can only get red and black interior.
rear visibility isn't very good. i drive a yaris at work, you can back that up with confidence but i'm a little hard to see because of the back pillars.
and whoever decided to put cup holders near the gearstick (not just talking bout swifts, this is all cars) man i hate it. i put a drink there everytime i change gear it gets in the way.

likes
looks good
very customisable.
fuel concumption. i got 7.1 doing 120 kph for 600 + km. now i get 7.3 and that's half city half country.
speakers are alright.
everytime you're behind someone you just wanna overtake them. especially if they're a learner or p plater.
fun to drive.

swift sport. had it for 5000 km. 33000 on the clock

The harsh amount of power. Every time i push the accelerater to the floor I have an urge to yell AMERICA and then it just takes off. It is a display of power only equal to a fighter jet. Oh and a few rattles, but it was a cheap car and I hate putting fuel in it. I want it like my wifes car where fuel just appears, one day its empty then the next its full. =D>

My wife has a from new 2010 QLD Summer edition Siwft in Midora Green
we love it fun to drive and economical but then I have made a few mods
Sport rear spoiler
Tinited windows
Fitted Factory cruise control module
Mag wheels, not happy with them they were a Ebay buy and not what I wanted
Factory iPod connection doesn't recharge my iPhone
Rear light, was investigating fitting one when I found the factory one, after 18 months of ownership lol
Head lights, changed to brighter bulbs, still not as good as I would like
the car does feel a bit cheap sometimes
the carpets, yeah right
could do with a bit more power
No rattles but has collected way to many dents and scratches
