Rd2 at Ringwood the Sunday just passed. Second fastest FWD on the day behind a Renault Megane and 17th outright out of 54 entries.

This is a clip of my last run, quickest out of the 4 runs I did was 73.92.

The LSD has made the car so much better to drive out of corners! It’s a bit of a wrestle but good fun!

Man it’s been a while since I’ve posted in here. Been busy with life and working on other people’s projects in the spare time.
Managed to pull my finger out and make the last Hillclimb of the year at Ringwood.

I suffered fuel surge on the 4th run today, I let the tank level get a below half, it’s happened twice now out of left hand corners. Ruins the run! Extremely frustrating

There’s a few things on the list I want to sort out for next year
Fuel surge
Cage
Harness
P/steer

So watch this space.

Here’s a video of the last run, had a little lock up but still managed a PB.
Managed 11th from a field of 42 and second in class

So I didn’t manage to get anything I wanted to done before the first round of hillclimbs, I’ll try and get the power steering column in before Rd2 in April.

Regardless of my lack of improvement to the car I still managed to knock 1.6sec off my PB on this track layout, 1st in class an 15th from 66.

I really need to get my alignment sorted as I have no idea what I’m running  I’d like to add more castor and camber as I’m rolling too much into the edge of the tyre.
Also some softer tyres are on the cards before April aswell, the AD08R are a great tyre but they definitely aren’t a Hillclimb tyre.

Here’s some pictures

So throughout all the Covid-19 pandemic i only managed to fit the power steering column to the car, ruin 70% of the wiring behind the dash and lose most of the screws that hold it together  .

All in all its the most progress ive made in years

I actually purchased a new set of tires (Nangkang AR-1) ready for round 2 in early March but it got cancelled due to the kick off of the pandemic so i have been itching since then to get out and have a run!!

This weekend just gone 5/7/20 was the return of the local Hillclimbs albeit a little different then usual with self scruiteneering and the whole social distancing setup..

It was a great day though, car went well, i managed 1st in class again.. JUST.. and 17th outright.

The new tyres made it a real struggle to drive, i was battling torque steer something fierce (im not a small guy either) and really struggling to keep it pointed straight, i adjusted my style by the 4th run but i suffered a bit of fuel surge (my fault as i thought id get away with what i had in the tank for the last run).
Overall the tyres offered so much more mid corner grip and i could be a lot more aggressive on the brakes! Ive attached a snippet of the final list and times and will chuck some pics up when i get some sent through.

Awesome to see you back at it mate i am looking at doing this conversion to my ZC31 when the M16 has had enough.

Keep at it mate, keen to see how this car evolves.
